Brachioplasty, also known as an arm lift, is a body contouring procedure that can restore the tight and toned appearance of saggy upper arms. Men and women who have loose drooping upper arm skin due to factors like weight loss or aging can benefit from brachioplasty. At Central Ohio Plastic Surgery, Dr. Jason Lichten strives to offer the best brachioplasty Central Ohio has to offer.
Why Brachioplasty Is Performed
Extra skin on the upper arms can often be an undesirable effect of significant weight loss. Upper arm skin may become loose and begin to sag simply because of age, but also commonly occurs in patients who have had bariatric surgery. If upper arm fat is preventing you from comfortably wearing tank tops or t-shirts, brachioplasty may be the solution. Even people who have good bicep definition may still have skin sagging below their arms.
Enhancing the Results of Your Brachioplasty
Our goal is to provide our patients with personalized results that satisfy their aesthetic needs. In some cases, specific techniques or additional treatments are recommended to enhance the results of your arm lift. Brachioplasty is sometimes combined with liposuction or treatments with the Tripollar™ Apollo® in our office.
Brachioplasty Candidates
Good candidates for brachioplasty are in general good health and have had a stable weight for several months. Brachioplasty patients are looking to remove loose skin on the arms that has been resistant to diet and exercise.
The Brachioplasty Procedure
Recovery will vary based on the type of procedure performed. patients will need to wear a compression garment for additional support during the first few weeks of the recovery process. Swelling, bruising, and some discomfort is to be expected following butt enhancement surgery. Following a Brazilian Butt Lift, patients will need to avoid sitting for around two weeks. You will be provided with post-operative instruction to help you through the recovery period.
Brachioplasty Recovery
For the first few days after surgery, patients are sore and have trouble using their arms. A support person will be necessary for the first couple of days after surgery to help out with routine tasks. Over the next few weeks, patients begin a gradual return to activity and in four to six weeks, most patients return to full activity.
Brachioplasty Cost
The cost of your brachioplasty in Central Ohio will vary based on the techniques used to provide you with results that satisfy your needs. At Central Ohio Plastic Surgery, we do offer financing options to help make the payment process more manageable for our patients.
