Our Surgery Centers

Fairfield Medical Center – Surgery Tower

Dr. Lichten performs many of his surgeries at Fairfield Medical Center. Although that has been true for almost 15 years, FMC has undergone a massive renovation to their surgery facilities resulting in a brand new, state of the art Surgery Tower that opened its doors in May 2015. The $38 million project, resulted in a beautiful, bright, spacious surgical facility with 10 new operating rooms and 30 new private patient rooms. With facilities for both in patient and outpatient surgeries, the process has been streamlined to create a smooth process for our surgery patients and their families.

When you enter the main doors of the building, to your left is the surgery registration desk. Upon check in, a nurse will escort you back to the pre op holding area where you will complete any outstanding paperwork and begin the anesthesia process. After surgery, you will be reunited with your friends and family and discharged. Some of our patients having longer surgeries or those who come from farther away will opt to stay overnight in a private room in the hospital. Once there, nurses will monitor your progress, manage any post- operative pain and ensure you are comfortable and well-cared for in the first stages of your recovery.

In the past, Dr. Lichten typically performed outpatient procedures such as breast augmentation, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, lesion removal, and face lifts in the Outpatient Surgery Pavilion. In addition, he performed belt lipectomies, breast cancer reconstruction, body contouring post gastric bypass, complex reconstruction and other cosmetic surgeries at the Main OR. Now, with these new facilities, all of his surgeries can be performed in one place, creating a smoother process and better patient experiences.

Fairfield Medical Center is located at 401 N. Ewing Street in Lancaster, Ohio. It is off of Route 33, so it is conveniently located to Lancaster, Logan, Carroll and Zanesville. For more information about the Project Bright Renovation or the FMC Surgery Tower, visit www.fmchealth.org.
