SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM® is an injectable hyaluronic acid-based (HA) gel designed to smooth and hydrate the cheeks for a softer, more youthful glow. This innovative HA formulation works within the dermis layer of the skin, below the surface of the cheeks, to aid retention of natural moisture and reduce signs of fine lines. Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, SKINVIVE can produce visible, healthier-looking skin after a single treatment, with results that can last up to six months after the initial session.

What Are the Benefits of SKINVIVE?

What Happens During the SKINVIVE Procedure?

To begin, a topical anesthetic may be applied to the treatment area if requested, although this may not be necessary as the SKINVIVE solution includes lidocaine (a local anesthetic) to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Next, there will be multiple microdroplet (tiny) SKINVIVE injections strategically administered just below the skin on each cheek—a process which takes about 15 minutes. 

Following the procedure, it is normal to experience mild bruising and swelling at the injection sites; however, these side effects should only be temporary and gradually fade with time. Typically, most patients are able to return to work and non-strenuous tasks within the same day.

To help promote the best results and increase the longevity of the SKINVIVE treatment, it is highly recommended to minimize physical activity, limit exposure to sun or heat, and avoid alcoholic beverages as a precaution for at least 4 hours after the injections. 

How Long Do SKINVIVE Results Last?

Generally, the results of SKINVIVE often last up to six months following the initial treatment session. As the effects of the injectable begin to wear off, additional sessions may be scheduled to maintain the outcome. It is important to follow all post-treatment instructions provided by our office to help maximize the most natural-looking and enduring SKINVIVE results possible.
